Good morning all!
I am still having the problem of blood in my stool. The Dr's office gave me a stool sample kit and said it may be an Upper GI Bleed. What the hell is that?? How does one get this? Is it caused by the surgery? How do they fix it?
I have my first follow appt tomorrow.

Debi, I'm so sorry you have had a complication.  I don't know the procedure for fixing it, but, hopefully, it is something simple.  Good Luck tomorrow and keep us updated. Rosemary

Debi;      I am sorry that you are not feeling 100% and have developed this problem.  I pray that it is something very simple and that Dr. C can fix you up real quick.    A GI Bleed is when there is internal bleeding from the GastroIntestinal trac.   It can be caused by numerous things.  Hard to speculate what it could be, but it is possible that some blood made its way into your intestine during your surgery and it is finding it's way back out.   I can tell you that a colonoscopy is done under anestesia and you will not be able to drive after the procedure.  The worst part of the procedure is having to do the bowel prep the day before to clean out your colon.    Hope this helped to answer a few of your questions.  Sally
