1 MONTH POST OP NEED ADVICE
I eat a South Beach Cereal bar everyday. Not the big "meal replacement " one but the smaller 140 calorie one. They have 10 grams of protein. If I still ahve room, I eat a 2% string cheese. It has 70 calories and 8 grams of protein. All together it is a tasty 210 calories and 18 grams of protein....yum!!
I did away with breakfast foods, cereal is not user friendly for me, I can't eat a meal replacement bar it's just not enough for me. I use breakfast as just another opportunity to get the nutrition i need so i have salmon, tofu, eggs (hardboiled is easy to tote around) I make a burger (turkey or beef) i reheat my Wendy's chili, I eat ricotta/mozzarella/parmesan and some pasta sauce in the microwave. Don't just think in terms of breakfast foods, once i got over that it really freed me to eat what I wanted and what my body needs and i don't care if people look at me odd when i order breakfast out, i'm eating what i want when i want it. I just started doing the:
1 cup black coffee (8 oz cold)
1 scoop Isopure Protein Powder (choc or cookies & cream)
1/2 Banana or 3 strawberries (if wanted)
1 tbs s/f DiVinci syrup (if wanted)
3 ice cubes (if wanted)
I used to drink the Archiev One but noticed so many "other" chemicals in the drink and I said I will hold off for a while and see how I feel when I am off of them. I really miss them and they sure get me going in the AM.
plus they are costly so I am also waiting until I get back to work and look at them again if I still want them at that time.
Also I agree with Andi, just eat what you want since we are really just eating for our health now and getting the protein in is the most important thing. I really like the hard boiled egg in the AM, easy to eat and quick.
