Good Morning All ~hugs~ Ok I was wondering how you all are doing with your exercise? I am still not back into my grove and need to set some goals for these next couple of days! Though I have been drinking my protein shakes in the morning on most days to help with the hunger. I move between 160-166 lbs these days! Now I am above my surgeons goal of 153 lbs. I did reach it once and I am hoping to get myself down to my personal goal of 135-140 lbs. Even at that I am STILL overweight since I am only 5 foot tall though my body will not let me get lower at this time.  I also know that the carbs are just killing me, one day I tracked it at Fitday.com and I was eating about 95 gms of carbs! OK so please let me know how you all are doing?????? Need to get back on track here! Love you guys!!!

Debra, Hi!  It is so hard when you get off the exercise grove.  I've just started my marathon training program.  I am also recovering from a hip injury.  So, I've been doing some running, physical therapy and lots of stretching!  Tuesday I did hill repeats (yes, it is as bad as it sounds) with my running group.  Yesterday I did lots of stretching to make up for running too hard (I need to give myself time to get over this injury) and I had physical therapy.  Today I already did my stretching routine and I plan to do more throughout the day.

Have a great day!

Good morning! I cancelled my gym membership because I was having problems with my neck after using the treadmill and some of the machines.  So I haven't rejoined any place.  I am thinking of joining Curves or some place where I can use a personal trainer since I am working toward toning up for plastics.   I am also looking into getting a bicycle so i can use it to get back and forth from work. So even tho I am not in any formal exercise program, I walk back and forth from work almost every day, so today so far, I walked 2.78 miles and will walk that back tonight.  Sometimes I go more out of my way and try to get in over 6 miles.  I want to change it up with bicycling, but I have to see what I can afford. I am keeping track of what I eat and try and get between 1200 and 1500 depending on how much walking I do each day. Take care, Sue

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is. - Ellen DeGeneres

Good Morning Deb. I'm still maintaining 5 miles a day of walking with the pupster. Sometimes in the evening, hubby and I walk the boardwalk too. I also make a conscious effort to park my car a farther distance from the store and take stairs rather than elevators. ( I figure that every little bit helps - right?) I have not been keeping  track of how many calories and such that I take in for the day so I want to start being mindful of that. I kind of just "know" but that could lead to being too lax. Everything is going down except my waist which still keeps me in larger pants. Have a super day! Diane~~

Hiya Deb,

You might want to check the amount of sugars in your protein shake. As you know, they can sometimes come in hidden forms and you may be shooting yourself in the foot by drinking shakes to stave off hunger when in fact the glycemic index of the shakes may be adding to your hunger. It is a constant struggle, isn't it?

I have been taking walks in the morning--about 35 minutes a pop-- and while it's not super aerobic, it sure is good for my head, and can't hurt the energy in=energy out equation.

I am going to be on hiatus from exercise for about a month as I have to have an ovary removed (endometriosis related, nothing too serious), a hernia repair, and a tummy tuck on August 21. I should be out of the box for about 3 weeks and hopefully after that, I can start resuming exercise slowly.

Never a dull moment!!!

Hugs to you and

Amy
