Karen and Debra, thanks so much for your responses! Wendy's chili- one of my all time favorites! Boy am I looking forward to that day! I think you're right, Debra, it's a feeling I will have to train myself to recognize and just follow the plan. And I am feeling FAB! I've been walking 2 miles on the high school track since the 2nd day home and haven't had one second of pain. The only incision that is even visible now is from the drain as that one is just a little bigger than the rest. Have a GREAT day, Ladies!

Hi sweetie!

My nutritionist told me eat until you're no longer hungry...not eat until you're full.  After thinking about it, it made sense to me.  Even looking back to my bad habits, if I would have just had a "normal" amount, I wouldn't have been hungry.  The problem was, I ate until I was so full I wanted to BUST!  Then, the need to eat that mu*****reased.  A doc on tv a couple weeks ago stated we should ALL be eating off salad plates.  Including non-WLS peeps.

Jane you won't feel full for a long time, the nerves are severed. What you will feel is just not hungry. I didn't feel hunger for a long time either....trust me that comes back with a surprising vengeance! You just need to do what the doctor tells you but then get busy doing something else. I recall doing alot of crocheting at the beginning, drink my protein shake then go walk or crochet so i wouldn't think about the hunger/full thing. Best of luck to you, ANDI

Thanks Andi and Cheri.  I HAVE to drink more than the 64oz of fluid/day minimum tht the surgeon recommended or I get a bladder infection. I just thoght I would find it difficult to drink this much, but really am not. I am praying I get that "full feeling," when the time comes. I also am discovering that even though I'm still on clear liquids only, I am still not losing at an exponential rate. So, learning to also not jump on the scale daily and to not compare myself the others. Lots of learning going on here! Thanks so much for your information and encouragement!
