Picture this....Im sitting on my fiance's bed ready to watch a movie with him...and whats the first thing that comes out of my mouth?  DONT FORGET THE POPCORN! ...I swear, he gave me the weirdest look ever and asks me if I forgot what I had done last week and it hit me.....really really hard!  I cant snack like I usually did before the surgery......:-(  This is one habit that is going to KILL me...but I know its all for the good....*sigh* ..lol i kid! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of any "snack foods" I could possibly have and tolerate?  Also....Ive been noticing on the forums that a lot of people have said they cant tolerate sugar and they get the dumps....but Ive noticed the last few times I had anything with sugar..I know i know shame on me.....I was able to tolerate it with no problem and it didnt cause any dumping..and while we are on that subject Ive been having normal BM's....I know I might be paranoid here but is it normal that everything is still normal?  I feel like I should be experiencing what everyone else but its quite the opposite....i dunno, I think ive turned into a loon! haha Anyone have any advice??  I'd love to hear it! <33, Sofia

How far out are you?  Have you ok'd with your nut to snack?  I love sun chips harvest cheddar, cheese sticks or some kind of fruit.  Even though you don't dump on sugar I would still stay far away.  oh also i eat popcorn.

A girls gotta find some fun somewhere.

Sofia, Since you had the lapband, you shouldn't have a problem with dumping.  Dumping is something that can occur with gastric bypass surgery. Check with your nut on snack suggestions.  Take care, Mary

sofia, hi,  I am 3 weeks out and I had a handfull of popcorn with no proplem. I to like snacks . I have eaten reduced fat cheez its, and reduced fat triscuits, soy chips in the organic section. It tastes like I am eating real potatoe chips. Watermellon, cantelope, peaches with the skin pealed.cheese puffs believe it or not have no sugar and some protein and go down nice. Yesterday for dinner I had turkey kelbasa with the skin pealed and a few pieces of aspargus yum yum.   sheila

Sofia, Glennys Soy Chips are amazing & come in a lot of flavors. 1 whole (small) bag has between 9 & 10 grams of protein. Also, I know people love frozen green grapes, just make sure you don't put a whole one in your mouth--take bites & chew, chew & chew again!

Hope this helps.

Hun what I found the help is fat free refried beans with shredded cheddar cheese melted on top of it, helped with the mental snacking at TV time. Now I try to do a fruit or some soy chips but I have to admit, I am snacking on chips which is BAD! Your so right, old habits die HARD and they take a while to change! I am just over 2 years out and still working on that.

Sofia;      I am about 2.5 months out and two of my favorite snacks are sugar free fudgesicles and whole wheat goldfish.   I never eat a whole serving of the goldfish (I try to keep it around 20 fish), but it makes me feel like I am eating something crunchy.   Some of the soychips aren't bad either.   I just had about 1/8 of a cup of popcorn yesterday for the very first time.  I was kind of nervous about eating it.  Have heard different stories about how it is not good for the newborn pouch.   It sure did taste good and the best thing is I was able to stop after just a few pieces.  Good luck.  Sounds like your at least conscious about what choices you are making.  Sally
