Hi all!

I'm feeling a little better today. Still in pain but not as much. Now I am approaching the pureed foods soon and was wondering if anyone had any good recipies or sites I could go to for some ideas. Today is actually the first day I have felt a little hungry since the surgery. I'm tired of the broth already!! LOL

Thanks!!
Debi

Stacys suggestion was and is one of my favorite things to eat.   I never had any problems after eating it and it was so Yummy.   I am not a cottage cheese or yogurt person so this was a lifesaver for me.   I never tried it with the cinnimon and sugar.    Glad to hear that you are feeling better today and have less discomfort.    Keep up the great work.  Sally

Here's a recipe I put together and found it satisfying.  I ate it both as is and with marinara sauce.

MANICOTTI FILLING

1 & ½ CUP PART SKIM RICOTTA

1 OZ. GRATED PECORINO ROMANO CHEESE OR PARMESAN

2 EGGS

2 OZ. PART SKIM MOZZARELLA SHREDDED

SALT & PEPPER TO TASTE

Mix together all ingredients and bake in a small casserole sprayed with Pam. (This recipe can also be used as wonton wrap fillings.)

OPTION: Serve with marinara sauce.

Debi, I wasn't much on pureed stuff.  But, I really enjoyed lo-fat soups made with skimmed milk and mashed potatoes. I am so glad you are feeling better...please remember not to over-do...the first ten days just take it easy...move when you can...and gets lots of rest. Rosemary

Debi, Glad to hear you are feeling a little better and know it will get better every day! Some pureed foods I had: 1.Fat Free Refried Beans with shredded cheddar cheese melted on top....YUMMM 2. I found Mashed Potatoes were so good to me, adding Carb Control(weight control I think it is called now) milk to add some protein. 3. Pureed tuna with light mayo or chicken the same way. (when it was ok I added celery to the puree and it added so much flavor). 4. My protein shakes with DaVinci s/f syrups added for flavor. 5. Carb Control sauce with some shredded melted muzz cheese mixed in. (almost like eating pizza) Ok I think that is about it on the really good stuff I eat around that time. I hope that helps some....
