Has anyone out there had RNY surgery that was necessary not so much because they were binge or huge eaters but because they yo yo dieted their way to obesity and have now returned to relatively normal eating habits (1500-2000) calories per day after the RNY surgery but have not gained weight?

I'm probably not much help as I am pre-surg by one week, but that is how I got to this place- yoyo dieting my way right on up to over 300#, and snacking at allthe wrong times. Often they were healthy snacks, but at 9pm, that healthfulness is outweighed by bad timing. My husband used to be a dairy farmer anbd we'd eat dinner when he got out of the barn at 8-10pm. While he burned it off with the unending work he did, It just continued to pack on my hips and thighs.  Not sure if that is any info you were looking for or not.

I am a yoyo dieter and reached 277 two years ago.  I have lost 139 and feel great but it is work.  I do like to eat at times but you have to make choices that are good most of the time.  I do exercise five days a week now.  I want to keep it off so I have to move.  You have to fix the brain, the doc fixes the stomach but the brain has to be fixed.  I am reading an EXCELLENT book -- Winning after Losing, the author had bypass -- Stacey Halprin -- she has been on Oprah, a definate read for anyone who had bypass or is considering it.

Good luck to you.
