I MET DR FIELDING
OW MY GOD I LOVED HIM. I THOUGHT HE WAS SO REAL AND DOWN TO EARTH. I FELT HE TRULY UNDERSTOOD WHAT IT WAS LIKE SINCE HE HAD THE SURGERY HIM SELF. I ALSO MET DR ROSLIN THIS WEEK AND HE WAS WONDERFULL TOO BUT SOMETHING JUST HIT HOME WITH DR FIELDING. I WAS SO UNDECIDED ON WHAT SURGERY TO HAVE AND I NOW I THINK IM GOING TO GO FOR THE LAP BAND. HAS ANYONE MET DR FIELDING? WHAT DID YOU THINK?
Isn't he the best? I was banded by Dr. Fielding on July 5th and from the moment I heard about him I wanted him to be my surgeon. I feel blessed and grateful to have been operated on by this man. He is AMAZING. His partner/wife Dr. Ren is equally talented, and I've heard excellent things about Dr. Kurian who has joined their practice.
All the best to you in your decision.
HI IM SO GLAD YOU FELT THE SAME AS ME BECAUSE I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THIS MAN. I WAS SO SURE I WAS GOING TO USE DR ROSLIN UNTIL I MET DR FIELDING. HE WAS SO COMPASIONATE AND HE ANSWERED EVERYONE QUESTIONS. HOW DID YOU FEEL AFTER THE SURGERY? WAS THE HOSPITAL EXPERIANCE GOOD. ANY COMPLAINTS? YOU SOUND LIKE IT TRULY WENT WELL AND THAT IS SO GOOD TO HERE. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A SPEEDY RECOVERY. OW AND IM SURE YOU KNOW THEY OPENED AN OFFICE IN MIDDLE TOWN THAT IS SO GREAT FOR YOU. I LIVE IN STATEN ISLAND SO IT IS GOOD FOR ME TOO. MAYBE WE WILL RUN INTO EACHOTHER AT ONE OF OUR FILL APPT LOL... JENN
The first evening after surgery was a little rough - I experienced the shoulder/gas pains and had to get up and walk laps around the floor to get some relief - I probably walked around about 30 times, and this enabled me to burp quite a bit - that helped a lot. I have no complaints about the hospital experience. The operating nurse was great, the anethesiologist (sp?) was SOOOOO compassionate and nice - he explained everything to me and made me feel very 'safe.'
I went home the following morning and each day I feel better than the previous. I've had my 1-week follow up and esophogram. All went well with that. Counting down the days until I can have some mushies! I went back to work yesterday and felt just fine.
I do know they opened an office in Middletown and will get follow ups there so that will be convenient. My first fill appt is on Aug 13 at NYU.
All the best to you!!
So the hunger is a funny thing... on Tues or Wed night I found myself really looking for something to eat - I wound up eating literally two beans (I had cooked rice and beans for the family) - I mushed them in my mouth until they were almost liquid. The next day I felt uncomfortable, and thought am I too full? Have I been drinking my shakes too quickly??? I took it very slow for the next few days and felt better. By the time I left work this evening I felt very bloated, although all I've had was 2 shakes, tea, and water. Tonight I physically feel like I'm hungry - like I have hunger pangs in my stomach as though it's so empty. I made myself some beef broth (gee yummy! NOT
), to take a break from the chicken broth, and it seems to be hitting the spot. Did I EVER think I would be saying that beef broth hits any spot... LOL. It's weird though trying to figure out exactly what I'm feeling. I definitely have port soreness which I think also feels like hunger pangs... I'm pretty amazed at the amount of food that I've been around without wanting or having any, yet at the same time if someone said, hey it's OK to eat a cheeseburger and fries, I'd be all over it - but maybe only a few bites.
sorry for rambling!!
