Meeting the doctor...
Can anyone fill me in on what to expect at this first appt?? I just can't stand going into something and not knowing at least a little bit of what's coming! Talk about control issues.... *lol*
Its a very simple appointment. Seeing the actual Doctor is very quick...he checks your tummy...and discusses the operation and determines if you are a candidate. I think I saw the person that helps you with the forms and such you have to fill out to get insurance approval. The whole staff is great...relax and good luck. I had my surgery on 5/10...I'm down 40 pounds and am very happy. I think Dr. Caruana is a good surgeon...I was very confident in him.

The whole experience is easy and very pleasent. The whole office staff is very nice. You will be weighed and maybe have your blood pressure taken (I have a terrible memory, my first appt was in Jan). Then Dr. C will come in and talk with you, exam in your abdomin and ask about your current medical conditions and medicines you take. He will then tell you if your a good canidate for the surgery or not and if there are other then the nornmal routine tests he wants done. He scheduled me for a lower venus doopler due to leg sweelling but it did not deay my surgery. Once you are done with him you will meet with Deanna. She will go over your insurance, make sure you have your psych exam. You will then go and meet wih the fitness trainer and make your appointment to meet for your group exercise training. That about sums it up, or at least that is how the appointment went for me and my daughter. I am sure you will find the whole thing to go smoothly.
