Why did I...

???

This morning I made my protein shake and drank it like normal...all seemed o.k. I got into work and filled my water bottle w/cold water; took a few sips, and bam, I got really nauseus & about 5 minutes later I vomited the water and just a trace of the protein drink.

This happened once before a few days out and I really didn't think anything of it.

I've been eating and drinking fine. Did have a little chile last night, but that was mostly soft beans. I called Dr.'s office & Dr. Holover came right on...(I just love Drs Garber & Holover--I think they contacted him @ the hospital) he said that what I ate last nite should have had nothing to do with it and that I might have a stricture; to stick w/liquids today & tomorrow. I've been holding down liquids for the rest of today; just had a thin protein drink & that was fine.

The only thing I can possibly think of is the cold water? But my protein drink was cold too, so I just don't get it

If I have a stricture, would I be able to hold down fluids?

All input is appreciated.

Awww, sorry sweetie!

Maybe it is the cold water.  I remember telling someone about a problem I had with chicken, she told me warm water will help it go down.  I'd try cool water, not icy cold, see how that goes...

Hi Karen,  The same thing happened to me when I was about a month out. Even now, if I drin**** water too fast, I feel that "uncomfortable" feeling in my chest. When I drink cold water, I make sure I sip it slowly..... Hope you're feeling better!!!
Many Blessings

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Karen, I am a little over 2 years out and sometimes chilled water still bothers my pouch  Sometimes I get sick or just feeling that way from the cold water though most of the time all is ok. Glad to hear that Dr G and H are watching this for a Stricture, hoping it is not but keep us posted!

This is so weird Yeterday I was fine for the rest of the day...I had liquids and a smooth yogurt.

Then this a.m. I had my viactive right before my shake & the viactive made me a little queezy with that pain in the left side of my chest. It passed after about 15 min then I was able to finish my shake.

Does a stricture happen suddenly, or does it creep up on you???

Drs. Garber & Holover both agreed tht I should have an endoscopy. I'm having it tomorrow. Of course today I was able to eat soft foods w/no problem. But if I wait it will have to be 2 weeks, so I guess better safe than sorry.
