New York City...Here I Come!!
Hello from Virginia....I am getting ready to make my first trip ever to New York City for a work related training session this coming week. I am 8 1/2 months and 135 pounds lost post op and really excited about the trip. I don't think I could have held up in the city a year ago. We will be flying in on Tuesday and staying until Saturday. Only my second time flying as well...a little nervous about the whole trip. We are staying in the heart of Manhattan. Any words of wisdom for the visiting weight loss surgery sister from a small southern town. We will have the evenings free...so any ideas of fairly inexpensive entertainment. I don't think we will have it in our budget for a Broadway show. We are planning on a night bus tour of the city. Any suggestions for which tours etc. are best would be more than welcomed and appreciated.
Thanks Yall !!!

Hey Char!
How fun! My sister lives in the Bronx. I get there a few times a year. Last year my best friend and I went down on a bus trip. We did the water taxi around the Statue of Liberty.
If I remember correctly, it was $10 or so. You catch it down in Battery Park.
If it weren't for my son, I'd live down there in a flash! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! Have fun!!! and KUDOS on the weight loss! WOWSERS!!!!

A night bus tour will be loads of fun! If you are in the heart of Manhattan, you are likely only a few blocks from both Macy's nd the Empire State Bldg. Heee..I've never bought anything in Macy's- too exp. for my budget, but love to walk through! And the Empire State Bldg will offer you an unparalleled view from the top! You gottagottagotta do it! Let's see...cheap thrills...Tis Square at night is always colorful, busy and fun. There are often shows and/or movies shown on a large outdoor screen at Battery Park in the evenings.Check out the NYC website for schedules for that! And ask your host or desk person at the motel you are staying at. They always have wonderful suggestions and often coupons too! My dd and I go into the city about twice a year for her audiology appts and we stay at the Murray Hill Comfort Inn at 42 W34h St. They are FANTABULOUS hosts there, can't begin to say enough about them.
Have a WONDERFUL time!
To get great ticket prices for a Broadway show you visit the TKTS booth in Times Square. Tickets can run between 30% and 75% OFF the regular show price. There are no guarantees of what shows will be available but there are SO MANY great shows playing right now that your sure to find one you'll love.
All The Best & I know you'll fall in love with NYC like I have.
