I CHICKENED OUT
Hi Tessie!
I am sorry about your day
. I kinda did the same thing before my surgery. I didn't miss my pre-op but i was suppost to be on A all liquid diet. aka Medifast. about 10 days prior to my surgery I had a HUGE BINGE. I felt that i was trying to sabatoge myself so i would not go through with it. The sad fact is that I did that many times with dieting and etc. I think the one thing that you should do is to sit and think for a bit about what your goals are and how you will achieve them. I had to make a Pro and Con list before surgery to make myself stop trying to railroad myself. I hope this helps. remember you are not alone in this and it truely is a scary ordeal to go through.
I wish you the best of luck!
Jamie

Awww, so sorry about that Tessie! Did ya call to let them know you weren't coming? I sat in my gown at the hospital before surgery thinking that I should get my clothing on and go home. My surgery was delayed 5 hours, so I sat there with my IV, gown and lovely stocking-things pondering whether I was about to do the right thing or not. Now, 8 weeks out I am certain that I have. My life has changed so much. Think about the quality of life you've been living, I know my pre-op life wasn't a life...and dream about what you want your life to be. It can be!
Huggins sweetie!

THANKS CHERI FOR RESPONDING. YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE QUALITY OF LIFE. THAT'S WHAT GETS ME SO MAD AT MYSELF. I CAN'T WALK OR STAND MORE THAN 5 MINUTES. I CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH MY KIDS. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO WORK SINCE NOVEMBER. SO WHY AM I FREAKING OUT SO BAD. I HAVE NO IDEA. I AM HOPING THAT I CAN DO MY PRE-OPS ON MONDAY.
Tessie,
I'm sorry today was such a rough day for you.
I think it's pretty normal for you to be nervous and scared, after all this is a life-changing step. But you have to keep in mind what the benefits will be, how much better things can be afterwards. When you reschedule your pre-ops, maybe you could make a list of all the good things that will come from the surgery and bring that with you. Looking at that and focusing on the good stuff to come just might give you enough focus to alleviate your nerves, and get you through your pre-ops.
Good Luck!!!!
