I got home from the hospital yesterday, and was banded on the 5th.  WOOO HOOO!!!  I've been waiting so long for this and I finally have made it!!   As I expected I was FREEZINGin the recovery room, but able to rest a lot - they put lots of warm blankets on me.  The evening of the 5th was rough because of the shoulder/gas pain.  I must have walked about 30 laps around the hospital hallway and it really helped - I was able to get some good burps in . It was really good to get home yesterday.  Each day I feel a little better.  I look forward to being able to sleep comfortably on my side/stomach - it's hard for me to sleep flat on my back.   Thanks to all of you for all the excellent postings and advice - it's so amazing to be able to read everyone else's experiences and learn from each other.

Congratulations!!! Welcome to the loser's circle! Sue

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is. - Ellen DeGeneres

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.  Each day I feel a little better. I was actually able to lay on my stomach for a little while last night while watching TV - I put a BIG FLUFFY comforter down between me and the bed and I was quite comfortable, until I began thinking I might be pulling at something and thought I probably shouldn't do this so soon... it was a lot easier to get down there than it was to get up! I haven't been hungry AT ALL, but I'm drinking my protein shakes and sipping on Propel, water and Vitamin water all day.  Do NOT want to get dehydrated.  Who knew that Propel tasted so good!  I'm a former diet-coke/pepsi ADDICT and stopped cold turkey in the beginning of June.  My kids are going to miss all the nickels from the bottle returns It hit me yesterday - on 7/7/07 that 7 has always been my lucky number and I think it was meant to be that I was banded in 7/07!
