I know I've seen postings on this before, but can't remember/find where.   I am being banded on July 5th and getting antsy over little details.  Can anyone recommend items that I'll want to remember to pack for the hospital? Thanks!

from what I've read/heard/seen from others, if I were being banded I wouldn't bring anything beyond the clothes on my back and maybe a couple magazines and an extra pair of socks & underwear. ... I think in most cases now, a band is done with just one night's stay.. so you're going in on the 5th, you'll most likely be coming home the afternoon of the 6th. between the recovery from anesthesia, resting and walking, there really won't be much time to have a NEED for anything else... something to read or jus****ch the TV. best of luck.

Exactly what Sean said.  I only had with me what I wore to the hospital.  Congrats on your date!

Ditto, my surgery was June 20th and I never got out of the hospital gown.  You are on a drip until almost the minute you leave once you tolerate liquids, they take it out and you are done.  Changing with the IV in is a pain.  I never even got into a room, stayed in recovery till I left the hospital. Good Luck to you!

I would say bring chap stick! That was awesome.  My lips were so dried and I used it like 15 times during my stay.  I brought my fuzzy flip flops for walking and my ipod.  Good luck sweet one!

You probably saw several postings like this on the Lapband message board. You don't need much, maybe some chapstick, wear slip on shoes or flipflops (you wont be bending over after surgery!) and some comfortable loose pants to wear home.   All the best to you! P.S.  Also you might want to have a little pillow to rest against your stomach for the car ride home.  I was wishing I had one for when we hit bumps in the road.
