Hi all,

Many of you told me to call my doc because I was still taking pain meds & just didn't feel right. By the time I called Dr. Garber yesterday a.m., I was running over 101. He immediately prescribed leviquin. He didn't like the way one of the drains was looking as I described it. I KNEW something was wrong. Boy, his office connected me to him immediately. I hope he wasn't in the middle of someone's RNY! My fever went away very quickly.

So, I gained 8 lbs. in the hospital from the fluids and have lost that. Does the weight loss begin now?

going for a walk when it gets dark so nobody sees me in my housecoat--my kids would be mortified! I like to go with one of them or my husband so I don't trip on the sidewalk. He doesn't care about the housecoat.

Karen...........I'm so glad you called the Doctor.  I also am glad he took you seriously.  He must be a good Doctor that really cares.  Keep drinking the water as that will help the fever and everything else.......lol  I will keep you in my prayers.  Please keep me posted.

Hi Karen Yes, it is very common for you to gain weight in the hospital. That comes from all the IV fluids they give you plus the carbon dioxide that they pump into your abdomen to do the surgery. You should start seeing a weight  loss.
