Sick sick sick, when will it end?
The surgeon didn't say much of anything =/ Both surgeons didn't. One of them was just plain stumped.
So I'm going to be scheduled for an endoscopy on Friday if they find an opening for me.
4 hours wasted and Im too sick to go to my GED placement test this week. I spent the rest of the day in bed with an ice pack on my chest/stomach.
WOW do you have a great deal of faith in your surgeons because on the hottest day of the year, when you can barely ge****er down they are going to send you home....you've got (3) days until the endoscopy, why aren't they more worried then they are? When is the GED placement test and don't use your illness as an excuse not to go, find some backbone and steel it and get over there girl! You need this to get your life back on track. There are some days we are just too sick but work has to be done, things need doing and they've got to get done immediately...wait until you become a mom, there are NO sick days. ANDI
Sounds like a STRICTURE possibly, I'd want to be scoped or have upper GI w barium or CT/MRI to find out, dehydration causes more nausea and it can be a vicious cycle how much r u drinking at a certain point IVs will be imperative for safetys sake. I had stricture 4 wk out closed off the Y connection of the RNY due to adhesions (Scar tissue) but this is a common time for a stricture or narrowing of the stoma they created usually a upper gi tells the story and they stretch it, sip sip sip, the pain worries me as a nurse I think about blood clots etc walk all u can to avoid this every hr or so, sleeping long periods isnt good for that or for not getting in fluids, if u feel worse go to ER! I had a similiar problem 3 weeks post op. Turns out I had developed a stricture. I couldn't keep water down . I kept telling my doctor I was having problems swallow and couldn't keep water down, and he pretty much dismissed it. My doctor didn't diagnosis it till 3 weeks later .....yeah 6 weeks post op. Actually, it was his nurse practioner diagnosed me.
What I learned was I needed to be more proactive and vocal about my health. Why my doctor didn't recognize my symptoms, I don't know, since strictures are a common complication post op. You should call your doctor now; and demand to be checked for this.
