Hello All, Can someone please offer some advice. I had Lap RNY 3.5 months ago. I know that this WL journey is a process. I have lost 65 lbs so far, now a total of 120 is my goal. Now i think my weight loss is slowing down. What do I do. My doc said that I am just fine. But it is quite upseetin yhe past 2.5 weeks I have only lost about 4 lbs. I feel like I look deformed. My hubby and other people say i look great . But I dont feel so. Please help did anyone ever go through anything similar. All advice is welcome. Hill

Hi Hill

65Lbs??? That is great!!! I would think your Dr knows best. If he doesn't seem to have a problem with your weight loss I wouldn't worry to much. Think of it this way...would you have been able to lose the 65lbs if you didn't have WLS? I know I wouldn't of been able to.
I think your doing great. Stop stressing!!! 120Lbs isn't going to come off overnight. Be patient...it will.
I'm sure you look great!! Keep up the good work!

Hi, keep up the good work.  I found this one either OH or Smaller Self.  I'm not sure who authored it and I haven't had to use it yet, but it might help.

"Plateau Buster Diet" How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken     turkey       lamb fish   eggs         low fat cheese    cottage cheese plain s/f yogurt   peanut butter     beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles    tea or coffee      sugar free soda sugar free Jell-O         broths/bouillon   crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily In addition to the Plateau Buster, change your exercise plan as well. Such as if you are walking, join Curves, if you are a Curves member, do walking on days that you don't do Curves. If you are a member of Curves, join a gym or buy free weights and alternate between Curves and the gym or free weights for 5 days a week. Just in case lol..... I am 11 months out and have been at 90 lbs and holding.  My goal is a total of 100 so I feel that I'm OK, for now.  Keep up the good work. Cathie

Hi Your weight loss is going to slow down at some points to allow  your body to catch up with the loss. Then it will pick up again. I  lost 2 pounds between week 5 and 10 post-op. After that, it picked up again. Don't fret. the avaerage weight loss for a RNY is 10 pounds a month. You are already ahead of the game.
