HOME FROM HOSPITAL...

Hey all.. just wanted to let you know I'm home from the hospital and doing ok. I was suppose to come home friday but got really, really ill (migraines and severe nausea(i did not want to live I mean it!) I am a migraine sufferer for years but that was the worst in my life and I thought I was going to die.. I believe it was from the lortab which I told them not to give me because its given me headaches before but a nurse talked me into it saying that it probably was not the cuase of my headaches that the car accident I had 7 years ago affected my neck and the neck caused my headaches.. I should've known better! I came home from the hospital on saturday and I have been on this stupid clear liquid diet.. I'm on it until wednesday when I have my post -op appointment and go to puree and I cannot wait! I am dying for cottage cheese and eggs real food!  The pain is starting to subside and gets better every day but I really have not been doing all I should be doing. I'm feeling really cloudy headed( no, no meds since saturday nite) and feeling off. I have not walked except in my house due to pain but just showered and going to give it a shot today. My choices for food suck and do not appeal to me broth-yuck-but made my self have some. Jello, well, the mere mention of jello makes me sick to my stomach, so it's been  water ( not doing well but am trying harder today) I know water is key and I am going to have my husband take me to the store to get juices -cranberry & apple to mix in.. I'm not a huge fan of crystal lite but might buy some to try. I just want to feel normal again... so, thats it for now.... so glad to be on the losers side!!! love ya all ! Rae

I know how it feels to be  on clear liquids it sucks!!! put take it 1 day at a time don't rush anything believe me you will feel horrible if you do. just like went trying new food try a little at a time because your stomach has to get use to it eat a little and wait if u feel u can eat more try don't ru**** because the nausea and the vomiting is not nice. specially your stomach will hurt alot. well good luck and my best suggestion is take it one day at the time you will start to feel better soon .

Sorry to hear about the pain, babs. But I'm so glad you made it through surgery, safely. What was the hospital stay like? I've never been under anesthesia, what was that like? Big hugs from me...so happy for you.

Welcome home!

I'm sorry you went through the pain you did; don't you just love it when docs/nurses know more than we do about our own bodies?

Looking forward to taking this journey with you!

Welcome home, Rae. Things will only be getting better with all of the "hospital stuff" behind you. Be easy on yourself and things will just come together soon enough. Diane~~

Hi Rae!
Welcome home!! Sorry to hear about your migriane. I too get them. I remeber one that I had..... I went to the emergency room it was so bad. I was vomitting every 5 minutes, and the PAIN...OMG. If I had a huge knife I would of cut my head off, thats how bad it hurt! I can so realte! I'm glad your feeling a little better.
Not to worry, your strong and you CAN do this!! I wasn't a fan of Crystal Lite either until I tried the lemonade...now I am hooked. I use to be addicted to diet pepsi. I haven't had one in over a month. Honestly I don't even miss it.
Try some sugar free popsicles, they may help!

Sorry ya weren't feeling so hot.  I've never had a migraine, but my sis has them, so I know through her how bad they get.  My 6 week post op diet wasn't so bad.  I did liquids/clear for 1 week, runny stuff for the next 2, then soft foods for 2.  Weeks 5 and 6 were chicken salad and that type of thing for me.  I'm still doing soft foods by choice, tossing some chicken and turkey burgers in.  I just bought portabello mushroom veggie burgers.  I'll let ya know how they are. Glad you're home and on your way! Muah
