Another step taken...
Well I had my psych evaluation today, I'm hoping it went well. The doctor said he thinks I'm a good candidate for the surgery, hopefully he was sincere and doesn't just say that to everyone.
My initial bloodwork was done last week, I filled out all the paperwork from the website, and my PCP sent the letter of Medical Necessity to Dr. Caruana's office. So now I guess I wait to hear from his office as to what my next step is. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon, I'd kinda like to keep the ball rolling at a steady pace. If anyone has an idea what might be next for me, I'd love to hear.
Thanks a bunch for listening!

Hi Flo,
I to am going through Synergy. You might want to call them next week to make sure they received all your paperwork. Gail tends to be a bit ******y sometimes but I am sure thats because of the overload of work she has. Deanne is very nice and helpful. Seems like I had to call them once in awhile to keep that ball rolling ....if you know what I mean.

So far I've downloaded all the paperwork from the Synergy website, filled it out and sent it in, had my bloodwork done and the results will be faxed to Dr. Caruana from my PCP, and had my psych evaluation done. I'll be sure to give Dr. Caruana's office a call next week if I haven't heard from them, just to touch base and find out what's next for me. I'm sure there's still quite a few things that need to be done before I even know for sure if I'll actually be having the surgery. I haven't called my insurance company; do you think I should, just to find out what they require before approving the surgery, or is it better to just let Dr. Caruana's office deal with them??
Thanks for all the help/advice/suggestions/support!
Flo

Congrats on getting yet another step closer.....
I know if feels great working your way forward!
Keep us posted hun...

My daughter and I have both had surgery with Dr. Caruana within the last three months. I think it is different for everyone. We saw him first, had our psych exams about three weeks later, met with the physical fitness trainer and then we were scheduled for surgery after the insurance approval. ( All within approx 6 weeks from our first appt with him). We did not see the doctor again until the morning of surgery. My insurance did not require anything else.
Good luck to you. I am sure it will all go smoothly for you.
