Ultrasounds suck!!!!
I am in the testing phase before getting lap band surgery. I got my blood work done, the psych evaluation, tomorrow is my nutritionist appointment, and next week I will see my PCP and get an endoscopy. Today, I had what I thought would be the easiest appointment of them all...my ultrasound. Ugh not so much. I never had this procedure before so I am just speaking on this experience alone, but it hurt the way the gal jabbed the wand into my side and stomach. Yuck. Did anyone else feel pain during this test? I am also not looking forward to the endoscopy.
I am in the process of going through all of my appointments as well. I have not had this ultra sound yet, but I have had many in the past for other things. I can tell you if you have extra cushion they do have to press hard to get the best and accurate diagnostic.
As for the endoscopy I have had this done also in the past. They usually sedate you and you don’t remember a thing. You wake up a feel relaxed.
I hope it helps. It is a lot of testing and things… very difficult, but I am certain it is worth it in the end!
Good Luck!
Yeah I have to agree my abdominal ultrasound wasn't very pleasant either. As far as the Egd (scope) it was not bad at all no pain no discomfort at all . Thraot was not even sore. They put an iv in you and give you medicine in your iv and then you are out. I woke uo durring and then they gave me more and was out again.Make sure while they are in there they take a biopsy of your stomach to check for h-ploryi.

Yep, the ultrasound does suck. My technician definitely wasn't gentle, but it was nothing compred to my, I'm not sure what its called, but I think its refered to a nuclear test? Its where they have you run on a treadmill >_> and they inject you with a solution. Then when you've run enough you jump on the gurney real quick and they jab the ultrasound sensor into your chest to make sur your heart is okay. Now that one hurt. It was also very stresfu-----Oh! Its the cardio stress test! XD
Wow, Im glad I rememberd the name.
