Moving right along

I had my consult yesterday on 6/13 with Dr. Kini at Mount Sinai. I had a great experience. The doc talked to 3 of us together and then saw us individually. He thought that the sleeve would be the best option for me. After hearing all about it, I thought it sounded like a great solution. he wasn't 100% sure my E,mpire BCBS would cover it. So he put me down for the sleeve or the band. After the appointment, I went right down stairs and had all my bloodwork done. I also had my psych evaluation this afternoon and got the a-ok. Tomorrow morning I have to call the nutritionist because they have an appointment that hopefully I can get into. I have to have an ultrasound of my galbladder and that's coming up on Tuesday. The only problem I am having is getting the appointment for my endoscopy. It's not until July 9th. I want one sooner so I can submit my stuff to my insurance and get my date already. I am dying to start my new life. Does anyone know a gastroenterologist that doesn't have that long of a wait??? I am in the northern Jersey?nyc area, but would travel a little to get seen asap. Let me know

Yes, you are moving right along!

Is this gastro one that your PCP recommended or that you know already? Or is he/she part of Dr. Kini's team? Sometimes a phone call from another doctor works wonders in getting an opening. Also, you can keep calling to see if they get cancellations. Once they know you're serious, sometimes they work a little harder to fit you in.

Hope this helps.

Told you, Dr. Kini is great!  I have my endoscopy on Monday, and then I see my PCP on Wednesday for her letter, and I am set.  Good luck, and keep us posted! Shara

Hi Bobarah, I just had my endoscopy done yesterday.  I can give you the info for the gastroenterologist that I went to.  I liked him very much.  He does a lot of pre-ops.  His office is in Bloomfield which isn't too far from you.  I had the testing done in Verona. Dr. Celebre -  973-680-5500
