I visualized my journey from a plane

Hi everyone.

I went on an overnight business trip to Kansas & it feels really good to be back in NY.

I was speaking before an audience, and the person I was speaking with was being filmed for a documentary. I RAN from the camera. I was so self-conscious and embarrassed about my appearance. I felt like crying!

Anyway, while flying, I always request an aisle seat--too many potty breaks to climb over people.

The only seat I could get was a window.
So we were flying above the clouds, and it was just so beautiful. White, fluffy, pretty, looked like I could just jump onto this bed of clouds and roll around or float like on a calm sea. It looked so soft and peaceful. I was mezmerized; couldn't drag my eyes away from the window.

Then we went into the clouds, and it was, well, cloudy. Blurry, uncertain, a little scary.

We emerged from the clouds to a beautiful, bright, sunny view of the coas****er, boats, beaches, then the city. It was so lovely, and I felt so refreshed. This whole time I was thinking, this is how I envision my journey--beautiful, alluring, tempting.

Then early recovery, rough & uncertain.

Then the emergence into the sunlight--knowing I did the right thing.

I know it won't be like a fairy tale, but I'm sure praying it will be my dream come true. And believe me, I NEVER have experiences like this.

Thank you, Diane & Lori.

I have NEVER had an experience remotely like that one. I truly believe I was in that seat for a reason.

I really appreciate the support I get here; it means the world to me.

Karen,   Being 10 days post op that sounds about right the journey we have embarked on.  I love the analogy.  I hope you have a an easy surgery and quick recovery.  You will definitely feel the way you did on that plane when the pounds just start shedding off.
