Well Sleep Study II......

Hi all!
Well I am off to my 2nd sleep study appt! Fun Wow!!
(NOT) I really don't want to go. I know I won't be able to sleep. I guess this is where they fit me with that damn machine! I am a very light sleeper, there is no way in hell I'm gonna get any sleep tonight!! It's gonna be one long night. I have to be there by 7:45...why so damn early?? I don't go to bed until 11:00!! Ok ....gotta go...have a good night all!! Oh yeah...no smokes since Friday!!

I can relate to going to the sleep study.........i went last nite for mine and it was a long horrible nite and i just pray to God that they have enough study that I don't have to go back. The worse time for me was when they put that mask over my face and I started to panic and i couldn't breath and the harder i try to breath the worse it got.  After the tech was able to calm me down and he left the rm I thought I was the smart one and took the mask off my face 1/2 way and layed there for about 20 minute and he came back to tell me that he knew what i was up too and that it would be in my best interest to just try and go asleep...........easy for him to say is what i kept thinking.  I finally fell asleep for about 45 minutes but it definately wasn't an easy task. Well, I'm not very helpful with info on sleep studies, but MAN AM I PROUD OF YOUR NOT SMOKING!!!!   Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee baby doll !!!!  Keep up the great work!!!!

I know just where you are coming from.....i so could not sleep at the studies....now though since I have lost about 30lbs after surgery I no longer need my mask...YEA!!!!!!   Kudos for not smoking...it is one of the toughest things I have ever done...You are doing great Debi!!!

Debi, I am so proud of you for not smoking. I knew you could do it. How come you had to back for a second study? By the time you will read this you will be home already. I hope it went well. I guess they have some sort of breathing pillow that you can use instead of a mask, So I hear. Well talk to you later. Sheila

Good morning all!
Well I am home now and no I did not get any sleep. Well the nurse said I did, but I was up at least 8 different times. What a joke! The nurse told me that if I didn't have this 2nd one done they won't do the surgery. I guess I have to be on one for the surgery...? She did give me 2 free masks. The only bad thing about the masks is they stunk!!!! I think it was the plastic...they smelled VERY musty. They were brand new and I watched her take them out of the bag, so I don't know. You would think knowing that it is covering your nose they would try to make it pleasant!! LOL
Well I am just glad its over!! I do have the day off today,and I am going to take advantage of that. I am not going back to bed!!

Debi, Hun I am glad it went well and I know from my ex-hubby that all the masks have a smell to them You would think they would put something that smells nice in them. Now get some sleep! One more step closer!!

Congrats on the not smoking.   Way to go.    I can relate to the sleep study.  I was fortuntate I only had to have one done, because that was more then enough.  I didn't think I had slept at all but the nurse told me I had and that she had the sound of me snoring to prove it........ how embarrassing......lol.   Well at least it is over and your one step closer to the surgery.   Sally

I'd imagine they don't allow a little imbibing to ensure a good nights sleep, huh? Too bad!
