Hi jill I had my surgery April 9th and I still feel that way . My Dr. Said that a lot of people complain about this for a litlle while. Are you having alot of gas pains because that will definatley make you feel sick have you taken gasx? But you have to make every effort to get the fluids and protein in I ended up back in the hospital because I was dehydrated and some other issues but I was definatley dehydrated so do the best you can and call your dr, if this continues . Also are you taken pain meds this might make you feel sick as well. Keep me posted and feel better hugs lori

Hi jill I feel so bad for you because I know exactly what you are going through. I hate to tell ya but you have to call the Dr. You should not be throwing up anything sometimes it could be a small stricture which they fix on an outpatient bases they do an endoscopy to stretch it out. I was a mess for the first 4 weeks I had an infection in the drain I i was hospitalized twice had inflamation around the surgical site and then ended up with pancreatitis could not stop throwing up for a week I did not eat or drink anthing for 4 weeks and I was in pain everyday now im staring to feel better but I still am queezy and very afraid to eat but I am pushing myself because I am not going back to the hosp. Nut jill do yourself a favor and call the Dr. Keep me posted hugs lori

Jill I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling well . I know feeling sick to your stomach is normal but if you can't even get down water and keep it down you DEFIANTLY need to call your doctor. It could be a stricture. Call your doctor monday, rather be safe then sorry. Good luck to you babe and I hope you start feeling better soon, but please call your doctor. Many *hugs* Nicole

Hi Jill, I am almost 13 months out. I was fine for the first month, but had rampant nausea months 2, 3 and 4 (my story is on here). Can you sip very slowly? Is it possible you are taking too much? You do have to be really careful that you don't get dehydrated as has been mentioned. As far as smells and tastes go, I had exactly what you are going through. Smells made me nauseous for a long time. My tastes changed. Sometimes the thought of a food would totally put me off. I didn't like anything except chicken and beef broth and Snapple ice tea for the first few weeks. I couldn't stomach much else. But it passes. Some people have absolutely no problems, just the full feeling, while some of us lucky people experience these weird side effects. I used to drink coffee all the time. After surgery, I lost the taste for it. Recently I've started to drin****d coffee, but for those that know, that I didn't drink it for almost a year was very strange. Anyway, good luck and I hope it all works out for you. Sue

Sue, Thank you so much for the kind words. And I feel encouraged after hearing what you said. I can't even drink water and I am so thirsty. I try broth and it comes up . I need to take meds and I can't get then down...I can't even think of apple sauce my stomach flips.... I never thought this was going to happen I feel like morning sickness 24/7. What a feeling. I cry all day and think I will never be normal again. Thanks, Jill

Jill, You really should call your Dr. You are going to get dehydrated if you can't eat or drink and are throwing up. ~~Betsy
