called Dr's office today
Well I called the office today and asked how come the insurance company did not receive any paperwork yet for surgery approval. She told me that they are having problems booking surgerys at sisters they dont have enough surgery time. So the drs decided to wait on getting more people approved then telling them that they have to wait a couple months for surgery. I said I can't speak for anyone else but I don't care if I have to wait I just want to know that I am approved then maybee I can sleep at night. She laughed and said that they will subbmit paer work to insurance some time next week. Then my phone went dead. She was real nice about it and didn't seem to mind at all that I called to ask the status. so it looks like sometime in mid July now not June as I hoped. thats ok though. She also said she didn't see a problem with me getting approved. So I guess I sit and play the waiting game.

Hi Sheila,
Are you talking about Sister's Hospital in Bflo? Well that stinks!! I was hoping for the end of June myself...lol. I have my first appt w/Panamanglore next week on the 16th. I'm gonna be on pins and needles waiting for approval!! I am the most inpatient person I know!!! LOL. What Ins. provider do you have? I have Ind Health. A friend of mine has the same and her BMI is quite lower than mine and she weighs less than I do and has no co -morbitdities(whatever it's called ...lol) and she was approved....in about a week!
Well I hope you hear somenthing soon!

My daughter had her surgery at Sisters the last week of March and she ended up in the recovery room for 4 hours instead of 2 because there was not a free bed on the floor for her to be moved too. The place was packed. There were times when her nurses were to busy to help her too because they had some really "sick" patients. It almost seems as if they need a whole seperate unit just for gastric bypass patients. (You have a private room, but you are on the same med-surg floor as other patients). That way the doctors would know exactly how many beds they have to work with at all times. I have my surgery this coming Wednesday (the 16th) at Sisters. I wonder if they will be full again. My daughter assures me that she will be spending the night with me every single night I am up there. She doesn't want me to not be able to get up at night becuase no one will come and help me. (talk about feeling guilty now for leaving her at night..........lol) I will keep you posted on how it goes.
