New Here!!!

Hi Everyone!! I am posting for the first time but have been checking out this site for a few months. I have a date for my lap RNY of June 1 and I am both excited and nervous. I guess I would be considered a light weight as I stand 5 feet tall and last weighed in at 201 with a BMI of 39.3. But I have some co-morbidities such as hypertension, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic and asthma!! Any and all advise and comments would be sooo greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone for welcoming me!!!! I know I am not alone!!!! Many of my family and friends are not as supportive as I would have hoped them to be and I was begining to feel alone..which is adding to my nervousness. I have been planning this since Feb 1 and up until now it has seemed so far away and not real........But in 3 weeks from TODAY I will be in surgery..........whew.........taking a deep breath.........

Jane, Welcome to the board and it is normal to be both excited and scared, I mean this is a BIG life change and SOOO worth the ride. The 1st will be here before ya know it so get ready and hold on Keep us posted hun and I wish you only the best! Debra P

YAY! Welcome Jane and congrats on your date! The feelings you're having are the exact feelings I had until they wheeled me in to surgery Tuesday! It goes so fast! In no time those co-morbidities will be gone!!! Best of luck and again, welcome to the group!!!
