I am only one week post-op, but know that I will eventually "be on food" (although that sounds a little off-putting, doesn't it?) I am looking for any information on kosher products that anyone on the board has used, especially things like shakes (powder and rtd), protein bars, other protein-rich prepared foods. Thanks, cyndi

for protein shakes get "Spirutein" its OU and actually tastes better than others. It is powder in a can. I also found kosher vitamins at vitamin shoppe.

Thanks Sam....I'm using the MaxiHealth and only the vanilla is tolerable, especailly since I add sugar free syrup flavoringsd (DaVinci). I'll look for Spirutein....no problem finding the vitamins. cyndi

the spirutein shakes actually taste good. I would mix it up with some ice in a blender. Then they are great!!! (like an ice cream shake). Great for the summer. I prefer the basic chocolate or strawberry over the fancier cookies and cream or others. No need to add flavoring.

There is a website kosherprotein.com that has a few different kosher protein powders. You may want to check it out. -Lisa

KosherVitamins.com lists 3 protein powders. The only ready to drink I found that has no sugar is a new Boost for Diabetics; have no idea how it tastes. The Spirutein is good, definately needs a blender. when you can eat food, soy crips are good in a pinch; the only protein bar I could find is NuGo protein lo carb that are on NuGo's website or at GNC. Some are too high in carbs, but the lo carb peanut butter looked good. Hope this helps. Karen
