Jasmine: Appeal- the surgeon will know what to say- and can help you- it will be fine- I know that this happens but when it does it is devistating. Here's a hug for ya! Vicki

Fight Fight Fight! (okay, the nice word is APPEAL!) Just don't give up or give in. I haven't heard from mine yet, my physical is tomorrow, but I can tell you this...we have fought with this most of our lives. DOn't let some corporation that knows nothing about you, sabotage or squash your dreams. Appeal and don't stop til it's done. If I understand the law, if your BMI is high enough, they have to approve you. Worst case scenario: you have to wait 6 months, but you'll be lighter and in healthier state for your surgery, which will help you heal all the faster. Best case scenario- eand they approve! Go for it and don't give up, Jasmine!

Jasmine; What was the adenial due to, what is the documentation needed or what is the criteria you need to meet? Sometimes it is merely they didn't get all the paperwork, do u have a copy of your policy and the criteria for surgery? If not call your insurance and ask for this ortionof your policy in regards to requirements for bariatric surgery. Also know your appealprocess, sometimes you get a limitd number so when u appeal make sure al your ducks are inorder so u don't use them up!
