Dr. Ferzli - Staten Island

Hi, I am in the process of getting approved for gastric bypass and I have chosen Dr. Ferzli. He operates out of Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn. Has anyone on this board used him? How did you find him? the hospital? Thank you!

Hi Pauline, It has been awhile since I have read this site, but I am glad I did. I had the surgery 1/25/2006, and Dr.Ferzli was my surgeon. I am originally from Staten Island, and at the time he was affiliated with the hospital there. Anyway, I had my surgery at Lutheran. I am down 75 pounds, I am very happy with my overall experience with him as well as the hospital. HI Pauline, I am having surgery with Dr. Ferzli on Tuesday, May 1. I have only been to bk Luthern once, last week for the pre-op. So far I like Dr. Ferzli, he was recommended to me by my mother who is a nurse on the island so I have a lot of confidence in him. His staff is very professional and courteous. Just got home this afternoon. Dr. Ferzli did my Lap RNY on Thursday. I've been pretty impressed with both him and his staff. Lots of positive comments from people on the hospital staff about Dr. Ferzli. The folks in the hospital were great. Perhaps a bit overworked, but that seems to be the norm today.
