Hey everyone I need some advice I've been really looking forward to doing weightloss surgery but i need some help of doctors and if i should go with the surgery or not

Hi Dominique ... I was looking into Lap Band for over 2 years now and when I finally decided, I (along with 2 other friends) went online to search for a good doctor. I then noticed that majority of them required me to do soooooo many things first before I could even be considered for lap band surgery. I then spoke to a friend who worked in the same company as I did and asked him where he had his done and who was his doctor. His doctor is all the way in Long Island ( I live in Staten Island) and the commute is a good one and half to 2 hours ... depending on traffic but I have no regrets at all with the doctor that I chose. They knew that I did practically everything to lose weight but with no success. All I did was just the clearance testing required before the surgery and when I got my clearances, I had a schedule for the lap band surgery right away. Oh, my doctor and his staff are just really wonderful and I'm sooooo happy that I chose them. I wish you all the luck in finding the right doctor. Take care for now.

hey thank you for the response, if you dont mind me asking can i get the name of the doctor and the info about the doctor .I live in queenz not to far from long island so it would be very helpful if i can get that info also thank you

Hi Dominique, My doctor is Dr. Colin Powers. I love him and his staff. They were very informative. In his staff, I usually always speak with Joy. Their really great. Research about them first if you like then you decide if you want to do a consultation or not. Take care and good luck.

As mentioned before only you can decide if this is right for you. Do you know anyone who had wls in your vicinity? If so I would be inclined to go with someone whom you were refered to. You are in the right place as far as information. I wish you the best of Luck
