how much??
Anita:
There is no answer to this question because as individuals we have very different needs, as well as a myriad of factors that would/could influence this answer (age, gender, previous diet history, current wt, current medical comorbidities, current medications, metabolism, amount of exercise, intensity etc one gets)...
I recommend starting to log all you eat in a day for a good 3-5 days on www.fitday.com or www.sparkpeople.com REALLY paying attention to portions, I mean weigh/measure everything! See where you are in way of average calorie intake fats, proteins, carbs. Do you lose, gain or stay the same? Go from there to make slow adaptations. Not all are carb sensitive, I AM though and for me over 50g day I crave and hunger is up plain and simple. I do better w/ fats and protein higher for satiety, (lean protein and good healthier fats). Usually protein over 100g, this includes 2 shakes a day of PVL whey gourmet. 10 hrs week in gym w 6 hrs of cardio and about 1500-1700 cal day works FOR ME.
Hopeit makes sense there is no one size fits all. The eye opener may be just logging the food, some find they are eating 2000-3000cal a day and not exercising and or eating 200g carbs etc a day. Enjoy the journey to discover what YOUR body needs..
