Any Ideas on what should I pack for the hospital stay !
Chapstick,a pillow, wet wipes and a fan. When you come out of surgery your lips will be super dry. You wont be allowed to drink so chastick will be your friend. I liked having wet wipes just to wash my hands and such. The pillow was great for the ride home. It made all the bumps much more bearable. I actually did not need the fan I brought but I have heard from several others that the hospital was stuffy. Everything else i took with me, I ended up not using. Good luck!!! : )
It's funny now that I think about it because the only thing that I packed that I actually used was my reading glasses. The hospital provided everything else I needed.
But just in case, you might want to take your own toothbrush & toothpaste, a wash cloth and soap, wipes for when you're in the bed, your own slippers for when they make you walk, lip balm, lotion, and a scrunchie to pull your hair back if applicable.
Make sure what you wear home is loose fitting and comfortable. Your midsection will feel tight.
I wore a camisole with a built in bra and a cardigan to the hospital with capri pull on pants, i was the second surgery so i wore that outfit home too! I brought really cheap flip flops to walk wtih then i just through them out there, no need to take hospital germs home! I had my pillow in the car for the ride home and i brougth a ton of lip balm and I was good to go. If i was not resting i was walking or talking with the other bariatric patients so i didn't require too much else. Good Luck, ANDI
