I have been approved for breast reduction surgery. I was wondering while I am waiting for the WLS if I could get this done first. Any one have thoughts on this issue? Lori L

Lori, Depending on the problems you are having due to your breasts you might want to go ahead and have the surgery. If you aren't suffering too much I would recommend waiting until after you have your wls. You are likely to lose a lot of volume from your breasts when you lose weight and you might end up smaller than you would like if you had a breast reduction prior to the weight loss. Best of luck in your decision. Mary

You may want to wait until after WLS to see what happens to your breasts. I have never lost weight in the breasts on any other diet. They always stayed huge. Since surgery I have gone from an overflowing 44 DD to an almost empty 38 C. The relief on my back and shoulders is amazing.

Thanks for asking, I had a br done in 2002 and now I wish I had waited because they are shrinking.....I am afraid I will end up flat chested.

I lost 75 pounds. I was a 40-42 DD and now I am a 34 C to D. I still have back pain and now my boobs are really hanging. I have OXFORD FREEDOM and have a consult appt w/ a reconstructive PS next month. I have the pain documented w/ a Physical Therapist and Chiro doc, I'm hoping oxford will pay for a lift. I don't think they could take any tissue. My boobs are small.
