Why can't I have coffee????? Is there a written rule saying I can't have any? I bought myself a medium iced latte Lite from Dunkin Donuts and drank about 1/8 of it and ran to the bathroom! WOOO HOOO (although the Milk of Magnesia did help me last night too).

I was never told no coffee.. only told it had to be decaf to avoid ulcers. I have drank decaf since surgery with no problems. I find I am fine with skim milk or half and half but the regular cream at DD gives me a tummy ache... L

oh yeah I've been drinking decaf coffee too but I need that caffeine. Is that why we can't drink regular coffee???? I've been actually sipping it since I got home this morning so I have a lot left over. I ate like 3 ounces of pureed grilled chicken yesterday with 4 oz of yogurt. Is that OK???? My husband said as long as I ate it slowly (which I did) than there's no problem, but I thought that was a lot but it all went down fine! I had that within 1/2 at 1PM yesterday for lunch and then didn't eat dinner until about 7:30 last night. I figured that was good since I wasn't hungry.

Trust me Cindy.. If your body could not tolerate it, you would not have eaten it. When you puree stuff and things like yogurt go down nice and smoothly. If you tried to eat 3 oz of chicken just chewing it and swallowing it right now my guess is it would not happen, LOL. There are some people on this board that have been drinking regular coffee from day one and some of them drink ALOT of it. For me drinking the decaf has not been an issue. If I can avaoid an ulcer I am going to do it....That is just me. once I was off the caffeine, I did not have an issue not having it. I am no more tired driving into work now than when I was drinking a big cup of coffee filled with caffeine. Actually, I am less tired but I think that just comes from the energy boost you get with the weight loss. I am sure a cup of high test java on occasion will not hurt. If I were out and did not have a choice I would not hesitate to drink a cup of regular. I am 6 months out and I still have days that I eat because I know I have too and not because I am hungry. BUT I do have days that I am HUNGRY all darned day. It is funny how this pouchy works! LOL. You will also find that some days you can eat something and it is great and others you take a bite and gag. My tastes have changed so much since surgery. Things that I used to love, I can barely tolerate the smell of it and some things smell GREAT to me... Like my sons fires from McD's and when I have tried one, they are so GROSS I can't stand it! one little nibble and I had to spit it out! L

I drink 2-3 cups of regular coffee a day. I had FF Creamer or FF Milk with Splenda. Sometimes I use SF syrups from Davinci. Not sure why you can't have it, my surgeon has nothing against it.
