Am I Sad?!?! Imput Needed Please!!!
I've never made a Post here. However I come on the site everyday. I have obtained all sorts of valuable info. My Lap-Band Surgery is this Tuesday Afternoon. I've been on a Opti-fast Diet for 11 days and have dropped 14lbs. I've been very honest to myself. But tonight I went off, I wanted something to kinda pat myself on the back for a job well done, on a 14lb. loss. I wasn't by any means Starving, or having a Food Attack. I just wanted something, so I got it. I was doing my pre-op Shopping, and I really wanted a Salad, I know, I know...But I love Salad. So I bought a Head of Lettuce, and when I got home I made myself a Big Salad, and I also put some Marinated Artichoke Hearts in with it, and some Salad Dressing (Italian) And I ate it! Now I know it wasn't going to MacDonalds or anything like that, and I don't plan to go off the Path again, I just wanted it. So did I just Screw everything up? Now the Guilt is setting in, and it's Bad :-( Did I do anything to mess up my Surgery Tuesday? God I need to hear some feedback?! I'm feeling awful now...
Thanks
Dottie

((((HUGS)))) no comdemnation from me love, just hugs and support. I know I am about toget banded...my 2 weeks fast says we can eat salad and veggies cooked and raw. Just no dressing unless fat free. I am not sure whatthe "rules" are with your Dr but it will be okay. Call your Dr let them know...I am sure hoping it is not a big deal.
I really wouldn't worry about it Dottie.... I was on the Optifast shake diet for a week before my gastric bypass surgery and I cheated as well. I actually had like 10 slices of toast one day and about 8 pieces of pasta on another day and I still lost 4 lbs. and they still went through with my surgery and everything is fine with me! It's not like you went to a fast food joint -- you had a salad! Don't kick yourself for it. Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be fine
Good luck!!!!
Cindy

Dottie, you will be fine.We were are on diets and like all of us we did fall off the wagon. What you experience was what we call in Philly and most like in N.Y. is head hungry. Our minds tell us to eat when we are full or we have something going on in our lives.
The best part is that made you scare and being scare now will help you in your post op.
Good luck and wish you the best on your lap band and your new journey.
