I AM SO GRATEFUL TO ALL OF YOU.
My surgery was March 19th and all went fine. I was a little keyed up yesterday about the drinking and protein regimen , but that is being resolved. I am incredibly pain free and can get all my liqiuds and protein in. It's a little scary because it makes you start thinking that the surgery might not have worked.
It is such a relief to have the "hospital stuff" out of the way and now I can move foward.
Everything came pretty easily for me along the way. Testing, Labs, Dr. Visits and finally Insurance approval from a company who is well known to make it very difficult for their clients. Leave it to me to feel that I almost didn't deserve it!.
In some ways I was at peace with the surgery because everything lined up in order. I once heard the saying that if God brings you to it, He'll get you through it.
Anyhow, I do know one thing...and that is the fact that I absolutely could not have made it without all of you.
It is unbelievable that a group like this in cyber space can reach out and make you feel that you are never forgotten which is sooo important . Many of us have experienced feeling invisible.
You get to see the good, the bad and the ugly and other different aspects of the WLS adventure from first hand experience. Of course every single person is unique...but you still get a sense of what to prepare for during this time.
I hope that I will be a person that will make a difference, even if it's reaching for just one set of hands.
To all of the pre-ops - try to RESEARCH everything that you can get your hands on. Attempt to lose some weight before surgery and continue to post.
To all the post-op regulars - THANK YOU!

Hey Penny Girl:
So glad that you are doing great... keep up the good work!!
Wanted to know, are you bloated at all? I wasn't in the hospital but when I came home and was walking around all of a sudden I became REALLY bloated and full of gas.... It's painful and I wish I can get it out someway but my hubby said that's totally normal since he had the same when he had the surgery..... Just wanted to know. But I definitely felt the same as you did -- I thought "did the dr. actually do something to my stomach because I'm still eating".... although not or not nearly as much as I did. But then I realized I'm full after 1 medicine cup of broth! YEYYYYYYY
