Hello Clayton, As you know, I had the same feelings, plus some...the closer you get to the date, the more feelings you'll have. Just have faith you're making the right decision, and I know you've done alot of research. This next month will fly..good luck. Lori

Hi Tricia, No my surgeon did not make me go on any type of diet. All that they wanted to see is me losing weight and getting enough of everything in(protein, veggies/fruits, etc.). Thanks for the encouragement and good luck with your appt tomorrow and your surgery. Clayton

OK...now I can join you in the countdown! My surgery date is April 24th. I'm excited and nervous all together. Some other paitents in the office today were telling me that I was all wrong chosing bypass. Its not that I want to change my mind now, but I wish they didnt make me second question myself. But one thing that I'm looking forward to is next summer going to the beach! Trish

Hi Tricia, Congrats on getting your date! Don't you let those comments make you feel like you made the wrong decision! You made the decision cause this is what you want and you should do it! There is a lot of statistics out there that says that the RNY bypass is the "Gold standard" of all weight loss surgeries. As far as I am concerned the Lap Band procedure is OK, but it is not the best for me. Yeah there is the DS which is just as good as the RNY, but there are negatives to both procedures. Your surgeon would have a better idea of what you should get, even though you shoudl tell him/her a preferance. I have had my father tell me that he really thinks that I could do this without the surgery, but I know that I couldn't possibly lose 150 lbs without the surgery. I have told him this and have many medical professionals that would back me up on this decision. I have tried many times to talk with him on this, but he is the nervous type of person and is scared about the risks and complications associated with the procedure. My mother is just the opposite and is SO supportive on my decision. I know that I have made a good decision and have talked with MANY(at least 5) of my surgeon's patients who have had the surgery. ALL have been supportive of me getting the surgery and have not said ONE bad comment on the surgeon!! I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and will see you on the losers bench soon! Clayton
