Hi all, I can't believe it, but my insurance approval letter came today and I am APPROVED! wooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo!! That was the last piece of the puzzle. I am so excited....only 2 1/2 weeks left. I have a nutritionist appt tomorrow, Endoscopy 3/20, PCP surgery clearance 3/22, pre-op appts 3/27 and SURGERY 4/2/07, so it should go quickly. I am so excited and surprisingly not very nervous. I feel pretty calm about it actually. I have had two different people comment on my wieght loss this week and ask me if I really need the surgery. I appreciate the concern, but I know this is the right choice for me. Thanks to everyone that has given me support and guidance over the last few months. Soon to be the new me Janet

Time for this angel to step up and do her job! Please email me at home so we can trade phone numbers etc. I'm so excited for you Janet! What a whirlwind this has been for you. I was planning to go to support group last night. Lucky thing I called first to discover it was cancelled. Maybe next week. Email me! [email protected] xoxo Amy

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for you. I just had my pre-op tests yesterday and have two more appts before our big day. Now I just have to focus on the dreaded two week liquid diet, but I'm confident I can do it! Good luck to you!!!!!!!! Michelle

hi Sheila! Nice to meet you! I have having my surgery with Dr. DiBenedetto in Lockport. I first saw him the last week in September and am having surgery 4/2/07. It was a 6 month journey, but I had my approval in November before Thanksgiving, and had my surgery date set in early December. I've just been waiting for a time slot in his surgery schedule. I attended a info session with him in August, had my first appt w/ him in September, saw the NUT, Psych, and had my sleep test in October. Met with DR again in early November and had my approval within a week of him sending my paperwork. I have Independent Health. Hope to hear from you soon. Michelle

I handed in all my paper work in last week and I go to a info meeting April 5th. then that same day you book your consultation with the Doc which is earliest is in may. I have all my tests done already, had sleep apnea study, psyc eval, abdominal ultrasound, blood work, ekg, and all mt letters from my doctors and myself are in. I herd that your doctor is trainng with allan posner for the Lap band surgery he has done over 100 so far. Well any what is your weight now. I weigh 234lbs and hate it. But I can't loose any weight untill surgery or I should say untill I see doc in Late may or even june because I just am at 40 bmi Even 1lb lost and I wont qulify. Even though I have co morboties of hurniated disc in my back. But the insurance co doesnt consider that a weight induced co morbitie o well I guess I'll have to stay fat until then. Hope to talk to you soon. Sheila

Hi Sheila! Sorry I wasn't able to respond to you sooner. I've been so busy getting things caught up at work and then my 2 year old got sick, and I've been running around myself. I saw my PCP yesterday and he gave me medical clearance. I saw the surgeon today, and we are all set for surgery. I just have to stay on my slim fast diet until then. I weighed 259 when I first saw my surgeon in September and today I weighed 239. I lost the 20 lbs he required me to lose I know that my Dr was training on doing the Lap band back in September, but I think he's been doing them on his own for quite a few months now. Either way, I'm completely confident that he will do a great job. My only concern is the post op diet. I'm just afraid I won't be able to stick to it. Take care and good luck! I'll be in touch post op. Michelle
