Moving right along!
OK, I have gone to the Seminar. Very interesting. Both Dr. Posner and Dr. Forbes stayed well past and answered questions from the audience. Very interested and caring MD's.
I had the month before hand been weighed at my PCP in Feb. No big surprise. BMR over 40 and weighed 247lbs. So I went Monday to be wieghed by Dr Posner Secretart and I am down to 241lbs. I am doing portion control and Carb count. No more than 80 mgs. of carbs per day. I have learned that sugar is my downfall. When I eat it the next morning I could eat the countertop. I am like ravenous! This is how I think: I have had more sugar in my lifetime for three people. Enough!
This past Friday I had my Psych. eval. A very nice man. Said that the WLS will work for me. I am determined, open to help and have an open mind!
My initial blood work is done for the WLS initial visit, at the Seminar. Tomorrow I am collecting a 24 HR urine for Cortisol. I will turn this in on Monday.
I am keeping my food journal. Good bad or indifferent it goes in the journal. There are even some comments I have put in. Stressors that have come up. I am also making sure that I have at least five glasses of water per day.
I keep plugging away. I know I can do this! Lori L Kenmore, NY
