Hi- Glad that you are feeling well. Your WLS center should have given you a list...no? I will not have surgery until March 19th but I given this list from a fellow WLS person to make it easier. im not sure why surgeons are so different but i was on that stage one diet for 3 straight weeks... there were some days where i just nursed a bottle of water... its not a punishment its just to get that little tiny delicate pouch healed .... dont rush into mushy foods just yet... you can get your protien from shakes... i used the slim fast no sugar ones and religiously drank them for a year........ check with your surgeon and find out what exacley it is your allowed to have thats the best advice.....i know its hard when you want to chew but its all worth it ... i reached my own personal goal 9 months out of surgery........if you follow your surgeons instructions to the letter you will have great results ...oh and i think vitamin water has a lot of sugar but i cant be certain because i really dont drink it...... i also had my surgery in july so my surgeon was just concerned that i stay hydrated the protien thingy will come with time believe me !!!!! best of luck to you Stacy

Hi I'm not sure why you are on soft foods already. Surgeons are soooo different. Our surgeons keep you on protein shakes for 14 days to give your pouch time to heal. You may not be ready for any foods yet. You have to remember, your pouch is like that of a newborn baby and newborns are on liquids for months. Take is slow. There is nothing written in stone that you have to start soft foods. The longer you stay on protein shakes, the better it will be for your body. Try it. Marie
