No, my hubby had the exact same thing... but I kept reading posts that mentioned "staples" and I was wondering if anyone had laproscopic since I didn't see any posts that had that.... Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Cindy, I had lap RNY on January 30th, it was a" piece of cake".One week after surgery I was approved by Dr. Weiss (surgeon) to start back up with water areobics, my "stab wounds" were closed. I healed very quickly and couldn't be happier. Can I answer any questions for you? Janelle

I had Lap RNY on 7/11/03 w/ Dr Graber in Utica. I had surgury on a Friday and Monday morning I felt great. I even called my boss as a joke and said I would be right in I had overslept. He thought I had chickened out on my surgery. I felt fine, the first two days I had an air pocket under my coller bone. But they said walk, walk, walk. It would help releive any gas pains. I never even took the pain killers he prescribed to me.

I had lap RNY on 2/14. It was ok, I've never had surgery b4 so for me it was a lil hard. I was just uncomfortable. I had the drainage in my stomach, that is the worst. LOL I was reading Janelle's post, calling them "stab wounds". It's funny I call them "bullet wounds" lolll. That's what the scars look like. But I think after surgery you feel soooo much better and get better faster when you are in the comfort of your own home. So the only prob I had was the drainage they put in your stomach after the surgery, mines got taken out in a week, others I heard in a few days. But GOOD LUCK!!

Hi again.... what's a drainage? Cause when my hubby had it done I don't recall him having a drainage and he had the lap RNY as well.

Hello, I had Lap RNY done by Dr. Weiss on 2/20. It was great, I went back to work 1 week later and have had no pain since the inital surgery day. I am just over 2 weeks post op and back to a normal schedule my scab's are all gone and I'm 18 lbs. lighter. Good Luck on your journey but by my opinion Lap is the way to go if you can. Lisa

oh awesome.... My hubby had lap RNY as well and I think he took like 3 weeks off from work, but he was fine within a few days after the surgery. He told me to take off 3 weeks as well since I will have to go back to the dr. and get weighed in and all. How are you with food though? Are you eating only blended stuff still? Can I ask how do you do those emoticons?????

Hi Cindy! I wanted to say that I had Lap RNY on July 10, 2006 so I am about 8 months out. It was not bad at all--I had Dr Arif Ahmad--he was wonderful. I went in on Monday and was home on Thursday --no complications and hardly any paid--all due to the great pain killers in the hospital! I was lucky enough not to have any issues since surgery and I feel great! I am down 77 lbs--30 more to go!
