I'm getting very nervous......
Lot's of posts on this topic so I won't repeat. Just to note you are up and walking if you had LAP RNY a day after surgery so I would not worry about Blood Clots. As for suffering a pulmonary embolism I thought about that too. I guess its a natural feeling to think of all the bad things. Ever since 9/11, and lost 150 colleagues (3 personal friends) my motto is if its my time to go its my time to go. I'll tell you that before I had surgery I kept thinking and dreaming how I would look even losing a mere 25 pounds. And that losing 50 plus pounds would take so long. Well it came off and keeps coming off. I'm down 65 pounds since November. It did not feel like a long road. Now I'm dealing w/ hair loss. I have thick hair but its falling out one clump a day. Anyone felt the same way?
I live in Brooklyn. Alot of hospitals in Manhattan have Bariatric Surgery. My doctor happened to be in Oxfords in network so this is why I had the surgery in Manhattan. Lenox has one floor just for Bariatric patients. I'll tell you my down side. The second week post of was Thanksgiving so I made roast pork shoulder (puerto rico style), I'm hispanic. I made it for my hubby. I said to myself I'll just have a really small piece. REally small well it killed my stomach. I thought I was going to die. I had pain every five minutes for 12 hours. The doctor told me (3 in the morning) to go to Lenox Hill. Lenox Hill at 3 in the morning no way. Doctor said it was because they had my paperwork. I declined and went to an emergency room in Brooklyn. I'm glad I did they gave me fluids took tests and discharged me a few hours later. I felt so much better. So please stick to you diet and don't cheat. Eventually after a month you will be able to eat a slice of turkey but nothing else.
The first few weeks is the hardest but you will make it!!!!
