Hi Jennifer If you had Gastric Bypas, anything carbonated is a no-no Some people have it and it doesn't bother them But seltzer gives you a lot of gas, can give pain in the pouch and can also also stretch the distal end of the pouch. I personally don't recommend it, but thats just my opinion. I do know plenty of people that have tried it and it has left them a lot of pain in the chest. But that's up to you. Marie

Ditto! Nothing carbonated, it streches the pouch. Sorry!

I figured it was a no no. I guess I'm getting the craving for carbonated beverages. I was a major COKE fiend before surgery. I need some sugar in my blood. I can't take diet drinks. I drink Fierce GRAP by Gatorade and dilute it w/ water 50%. I work out alot and need those electrolites. It satisfies my craving. Oh well.
