Hi Nicole-- I have an appointment with Dr. Panemanglore on 3/14- and am very excited/although nervous. Not sure if I want Lap Band or Gastric, but either way, I wanted it laparoscopic- which are you considering? He has experience with gastric.

Hi Nicole! I'm from Buffalo, NY too! I can't tell you anything about Dr. Panemanglore, because I never heard of him. I'm having RNY laparscopically on 4/2/07 with Dr, Dibenedetto in Lockport. He's really great. I started my journey with him in late Spetember and had my approval from IH in mid November, (after the psych eval, sleep test, blood work to check my thyroid, and seeing the nutritionist) and set a surgery date in December. Just had to wait the few extra months to find room in his schedule for me. I too am very excited and can understand where you are coming from. Good luck and maybe we can meet sometime. By the way, I chose Dr. D because I have a friend that had surgery with him a year ago, and she didn't have anything but nice things to say about him. Michelle

Nicole; I am sorry that I can't give you first hand knowledge about Dr. Panemanglore, but my daughter and I are both having surgery with Dr. Curarana who is his boss. All I can assure you is he must be good or he would not have qualified to work in the Center of Excellance which Dr. C has established. His is the only office in Buffalo that has the Center of Excellance certification and Sisters is the only hospital that I am aware of that has also recieved the certification. You should be in good hands. I know Yahoo groups has a local WNY WLS group. The women who runs it is very knowledgeable about surgery. She is very honest and frank though and will say exactly what she thinks. I have gotten the impression that she is not in favor of the banding unless there are certain cir****tances (less then 100lbs to loose, NOT been overweight for many years, to name a few). You may want to think about joining and read some of the posts on there also, but you will probably find just as much or more information on here, just not as localized is all. Good luck to you. I am sure you will be happy with your choice. Sally
