Congrats! I was a bit ill the first day mostly because of the Morphine which my system did not like but after they switched my pain medications I got better day by day. I am now 12 day's post op and doing great. I had my surgery on the 20th and was back to work on the 27th I did some short days but I think getting back in the swing of things helped me but everyone is different so take the time you need. Good Luck and Don't Worry it is all going to be worth it. Remember the ld saying no pain no gain With Lap the pain was very minimal and I have only take my pain meds twice since I left the hospital! Best of luck to you. The night I was out of surgery is kind of a blur. I remember being in and out, I felt so tired. My husband left me 3 hours after I was in room. I was determined to stay up until 9pm, to watch the first episode of the new season of Lost. Well, that didn't happen, I was so tired. The next morning they took out my cath. and I was able to start getting up and walking. I was uncomfortable from the incisions, I had LAP RNY. I was not in any pain, and they even took my pain meds away. I used the button once. Each day you wake up and you feel just a little better. For me, I didn't get sick, and still have not gotten sick. Take it slow. Your body is healing and needs time to recover. If you can, take as much time off work as you can to heal. I was out 2 1/2 weeks but could've gone back sooner. I figured I had the time, i'll use it. The day after I got home I was walking in Wal-Mart. 2 times actually. I felt well enough to go for a car ride, and wonder. Slowly wonder, but wonder I wish you the best in an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery Molly LAP RNY 10/4/06 318/246/150

Molly- did you lost 72 lbs in 6 months-- wow - amazing---on lap band surgery. I was getting nervous because it seems like people are losing more with gastric surgery- I am considering both- any advice??

I think you misunderstood, I had the Laproscopic RNY Bypass. NOT the lap band. I have lost 72lbs in 5 months. My anniversary was yesterday. I don't know much about the band other than, it's less effective, and it takes longer to lose the weight. I know that it is also reversable as well.
