I have begun my journey

A few years ago I thought about WLS but wasn't ready at that time. Now I am so happy to be taking this step; I know it is going to have a profound effect on my life. I've decided to have RNY as I have multiple comorbidities (hypertension, sleep apnea, diabetes, GERD, stress incontinence and joint problems). I live on Long Island; Dr. Ahmad is my surgeon. I have had my consult this week. Tuesday I see the nutritionist and psychologist for clearance. Then my paperwork will be submitted to my insurance company. I was told they are very quick to approve. I am having my endoscopy in two weeks and have appts with the cardiologist and pulmonologist later this month. I am hoping to have my surgery the first week of April. Dr. Ahmad has assured me that is very likely. I don't remember the last time I felt so good...and I know it is only going to get better! Cindy

You are in such great hand's with Dr ahmad he's awesome I had my surgery on Feb 12th lap band and he was great. I'll see you on the losers side soon.

Thank you all! I am one step closer to getting approval. I met with the psych and nutritionist this week...tomorrow my paperwork will be submitted. From what I have been told it will only take a few days to receive authorization. Cindy
