Can anyone tell me how much it costs to have my thighs done? Still have fat and lots of sagging skin. Also, how long is the recuperation for this process? Thanks, Maryellen

Maryellen: Each surgeon has his own prices so that is not a simple question to answer.... What I've researched on inner thigh lift. (there are a few type): Inner (medial) and outer (lateral). This is about what my PS told me (I don't have huge amounts of thigh skin but its jiggly, lipo would leave the volume less but skin would still sag and be there! But a thigh lift would leave scarring he didn't think is acceptable. With the current technology that is. (*Said they are improving things all the time!) Heres the best way to put what he said from this site: http://www.webplastics.com/thigh.htm Thigh Lift A thigh lift is an operation that I usually reserve only for extreme cases. In most people circumferential thigh liposuction does a great job in reducing large thighs. While this procedure doesn't always result in perfectly smooth thighs they are much smaller. So why don't we remove the extra skin and make them smooth? This is a good example of the saying "The enemy of good is perfect!" Because the weight of the skin, fat and muscle of the thigh is so great, the scars from the lift tend to spread and migrate downward. Even though they start out high in the groin crease, they are often visible below the bating suit line later on. If a person has massive weight loss this procedure is well worth it. , But only if the trade-off for visible scars is well understood. So with the above said I decided for now not to proceed with the thigh lift (also area of great potential to not heal well! Dark, moist are to breed infection, poor healing etc!) Cost quoted to me 2 yrs ago about $5-7K total (surgeon, OR, hospital stay, anesthesia) just FYI! www.albanyplasticsurgeons.com Dr. Joshua King is my PS and is fantastic, skilled, and very experienced w/ post bariatric body contouring and reasonably priced! Call him for a consult! The scar is in the groin crease and all the way down the inner thigh to the knee. Jamie, Thanks for being so informative......I'm hoping that a LBL will resolve most of my thigh issues. Have you heard about thermage? There is a woman on the DS forum named kathy (w8)...and she had thermage done on her arms and thighs. She said that she didn't want to undergo another surgery, and that the thermage would make the skin shrink up a bit, plus it smooths it out. Anyway about 3 or 4 months after her arms were done, they looked fantastic, not perfect, but really good for someone her age...that lost over 100 lbs, that didn't have an arm lift. She just recently had her legs done, and hasn't posted any recent pictures, but from my understanding, the skin has shrunk up a bit. Scott
