EMPIRE - BCBS - PPO - NY

I just wanted to thank everyone so much for answering my questions and sharing your experiences with me I am now not completly horrified of my insurance maybe Empire Blue wont be so bad after all...........Thanks again all...............

I'm also BCBS Empire NY POS insured. I have been sweating the 6 month supervised diet as well. I called on Friday...and after a loooong wait on hold, got a nurse Case Manager on the phone. She told me that the 6 month diet is no longer a requirement. She got in a couple of rude shots "You know that this isn't for someone who needs to lose 20 lbs" and "why are you calling and not the Doctor". I was sweet as sugar and found out what I wanted to know. I hope to have all my paperwork in order by the end of this week......then we submit and wait. I made sure to write the case manager's name down and what she said. I want this so badly! Good Luck to you....and don't hesitate to call your insurer. This is what we all pay for! Jill in NY
