syracuse area anyone??

I was wondering if anyone is from the syracuse area or has heard anything about Upstate Hospitals Bariatric Center. I would appreciate hearing from you and thanks ahead of time. donna

Good morning Donna, I just recently had my surgery in Auburn at the Fingerlakes Weightloss Center, and I am truely happy with the program and care there. Dr. Weiss came from the Upstate Bariatric Center surgical group, and is top notch. Most people I know prior to Dr. Weiss and the Auburn Center went to Syracuse for their surgery, and all raved about the program, and also had wonderful results. I hope this helped you in some way. Hi Donna, I had my surgery through the Bariatric Center in Syracuse/Upstate Medical Center. My surgeon was Dr. Kim. I can't say enough about the center, I absolutely am satisfied with them. I had my surgery through Syracuse/Upstate Bariatric Center. Dr. Simon was my surgeon. All of the pre-surgery preparation they have you do is absolutely worth it. I am just over a year out and am at goal. The nurse practioner connected with the center is really the one you deal with the most and she is great. I would be happy to talk to you further about it if you want. The support groups are KEY as well. They are well organized and very important. I regret that I live more than an hour south of Syracuse and it is just too hard to get to as many group meetings as I would like to even this far "out" from surgery. Deb

I am hoping to have surgery at Upstate. I have just been approved by my insurance so now its a waiting game for a date. My experience at Upstate has been great. The whole staff their are very professional and try to help you as much as possible. I would recommend Upstate. My surgeon to be is Dr. Kim and he is great.

When I started the journey nearly 3 years ago I started at Upstate. While all the people there were awesome there were a few too many hoops they wanted me to jump through. I ended up switching surgeons, someone closer to home and nearly a year later I've dropped 120 pounds. It's awesome! Amazing! Wonderful! Good luck to you. Tina 315/195/140

Hi Donna! I had my Lap RNY last Tuesday with Dr. Weiss in Auburn. I am from Syracuse and chose him because he has performed the same operation on 2 family members wile he was at Upstate. I have heard great things about Upstate. I did like the small and closer knit group in Auburn. I went to the informational meeting on 12/20 and had my surgery on 2/20 pretty quickly.
