I went to my dr appointment yesterday and found out independent health had approved my surgery! I was so happy! then I came home from work today and there was a letter in my mailbox saying that effective 3/1/07 I will have to switch to something called family health plus and of course independent health is not one of there providers! So I guess I have to start all over! Have been crying since I found out! Just doesn't seem fair!

So have the surgery before 3/1/2007. You've got two weeks. They can bump you up!

Yes see if they can do your surgery right away. Explain your situitation to them and see what they say. Good luck. LisaMarie

Bethany: Can you call your surgeons office, and explain your situation to them and find out what their recommendation is, #1 if they can get you a surgery date before 3/1, #2 if not possible on your/their end what would be the next best choice for insurers for surgical approval, they may know which ones approve and which require more stringent preop requirements such as a preop medically supervised diet etc. It may not matter even if you switch it may take a little more time but if you consider frameing it that everingthing happens when the time is best for you, even if a little longer wait is involved. Hugs. You can feel defeated but you can act in charge and get through this I believe in you!
